Arsenal Football Club's manager, Mikel Arteta, has made the decision to prevent new signing Noni Madueke from joining the team for their pre-season tour in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Madueke was officially introduced as a new member of the Gunners on Friday after completing a transfer valued at £52 million from Chelsea. The 23-year-old expressed a strong desire to abbreviate his post-Club World Cup vacation in order to commence his preparations for the upcoming season.
However, Arteta has advised him to prioritize rest and mental refreshment. Consequently, Madueke is expected to undertake a two-week holiday during which he will have access to one of Arsenal's strength and conditioning coaches.
The England international has signed a five-year contract and will don the number 20 shirt at the Emirates Stadium. Born in Barnet, Greater London, Madueke is of Igbo Nigerian descent and received his education at St Columba's College, a private school located in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Following his transfer to PSV Eindhoven, he relocated to the small village of Wintelre with his mother.
At the age of nine, Madueke began his football journey by joining Crystal Palace, where he remained for three years. He subsequently transferred to Tottenham Hotspur, where he captained the under-16 team and made his debut with the under-18 squad at the age of 15.
