The Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) PLC has won the Best State ICT Agency award during the Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards, which was held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Saturday, 11 October 2025.
This prestigious event, organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) under the auspices of the Presidency, celebrated outstanding achievements in digital governance and innovation within Nigeria’s public sector. The accolade signifies BDIC’s exemplary leadership in advancing digital transformation, modernizing public service, and fostering citizen-focused innovation in Benue State.
Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) has accomplished significant milestones, including the training of 40,000 civil servants in digital governance, the implementation of a paperless Executive Council Management System, the deployment of a fiber optic network across 16 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), the introduction of the Benue e-Parliament platform enhancing legislative transparency and accountability, e-Health innovations that improve access to quality healthcare services, and comprehensive e-Learning initiatives aimed at broadening educational reach and inclusivity throughout the state.
The Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards, initiated and managed by the BPSR, play a crucial role in fostering innovation, efficiency, and accountability within governance. By acknowledging institutions such as BDIC, the BPSR reaffirms the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and enhancing e-governance across all levels of administration.
The awards serve as a benchmark for excellence in the Nigerian public service, motivating ministries, departments, and agencies to adopt emerging technologies that promote transparency, optimize service delivery, and strengthen institutional capacity in alignment with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS).
