The dedicated personnel of the Joint Task Force, Operation WHIRL STROKE, have once again exemplified their steadfast commitment to restoring peace and security in Benue State by executing a prompt intervention to stabilize a violent communal conflict between the Ugambe community in Konshisha Local Government Area and the Mbaiase community in Gwer East Local Government Area.
On Wednesday, 8th October 2025, the troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation WHIRL STROKE, responded to a distress call reporting an outbreak of hostilities between the two adjacent communities.
Upon arrival at the location, the troops encountered sporadic gunfire from armed individuals attired in black. The assailants retreated into nearby foliage after the troops returned fire with superior force.
