The equipment was officially received by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, on Monday, 27th October 2025, at the hospital's mortuary facility.

During the unveiling ceremony, Dr. Hwande expressed his approval of this significant acquisition, characterizing it as a pivotal milestone in the hospital's ongoing efforts to modernize its facilities.

He emphasized the importance of treating the deceased with dignity and respect, in accordance with international best practices.

Consultant Forensic Pathologist, Prof. Babarinde Ojo, along with Mr. John Orban, the Head of the Mortuary Unit, commended the management's commitment to the modernization of mortuary services.

They articulated that this development exemplifies Benue State University Teaching Hospital BSUTH's dedication to comprehensive healthcare service delivery.

The newly obtained machine is reported to offer numerous advantages, including a reduction in health hazards, expedited embalming processes, and extended preservation of corpses. These attributes render it more efficient and safer in comparison to traditional embalming techniques.
