Super Eagles Set to Clash with Egypt in AFCON 2025 Warm-Up Match

Nigeria's national football team, known as the "Super Eagles," is scheduled to play a friendly match against Egypt as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that this friendly was organized at the request of Egypt's coach, Hossam Hassan, who aims to evaluate his team's performance against a strong opponent ahead of the tournament.

Egypt will also be participating in the UAE International Tournament, where they are set to face Uzbekistan on November 14. This tournament includes other teams, such as Cape Verde and Iran, with the finalists meeting on November 18.

The friendly match between the Super Eagles and the Pharaohs will take place at the Cairo International Stadium on December 14. Prior to this match, Nigeria will compete in the African playoff for the 2026 World Cup in Morocco, starting with their opening game against Gabon on November 13. If Nigeria secures a victory, it will advance to face the winner of the match between Cameroon and the Congo DR, scheduled for November 16.
