Super Falcons' Michelle Alozie Named In FIFPRO Women's 11 Shortlist

Nigerian Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has been nominated for the 2025 Fédération Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels (FIFPRO) Women’s World 11, an esteemed global accolade determined by the votes of professional footballers.

Michelle Alozie is one of nine defenders selected for this distinguished lineup, joining renowned players such as Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, Alex Greenwood, and Leah Williamson from England, as well as Ona Batlle and Olga Carmona from Spain, and Ellie Carpenter from Australia.

Michelle Chinwendu Alozie OON, born on April 28, 1997, is a professional footballer who operates as a right-back for the National Women's Soccer League club Houston Dash. Although she was born in La Jolla, California, Alozie represents Nigeria at the international level, having been raised in Apple Valley and educated at Granite Hills High School in her hometown.

At the age of 28, Alozie delivered remarkable performances during Nigeria’s journey to their tenth African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) title, earning recognition with a position in the Team of the Tournament due to her outstanding contributions.

Each year, more than 25,000 professional players participate in voting to determine the World 11, which honors the most exceptional players over the course of a calendar year. The final selection comprises one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards, with the final outfield player being chosen based on the next highest vote count.

The Fédération Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels (FIFPRO) Women’s World 11 will be officially announced on Monday, November 3, at 13:00 (UK time).
