Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, formerly Benue State University, is a state-funded institution located in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. As of 2006, the university had an enrollment exceeding 19,000 students across seven faculties and 23 departments.
The institution offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, encompassing over 58 graduate programs across nine colleges and faculties. It holds accreditation from the National Universities Commission. The current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Tor Joe Iorapuu, who assumed office from Professor Msugh Moses Kembe on 3 November 2020.
MOAUM was established in 1992, initially serving 306 students with a faculty of 149 members. The university was created by the state government to complement the academic offerings of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi. In 1991, a 13-member steering committee was constituted to plan for and secure approval for the establishment of the university. The university commenced instructional activities for the 1992/1993 academic year in four colleges: Arts, Education, Sciences, and Social Sciences.
