Benue State Deputy Governor, Barrister Sam Ode, mni, accompanied by the Commissioner of Commerce, Trade, and Investment, Honorable Alumo Orpin, conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction activities at the BIPC Food Basket Brewery in Akile, as well as the Benval and Benfruits factories located in the Industrial Layout of Makurdi.

During the visit, Deputy Governor Sam Ode praised the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) for its significant contributions to the state government's industrialization agenda under the leadership of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

He remarked that upon their completion, these factories are expected to generate employment opportunities, enhance internally generated revenue (IGR), and provide a sustainable market for local farmers through backward integration.

Deputy Governor Ode urged Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, to maintain the progress of the projects and ensure their timely completion.

Commissioner Alumo Orpin expressed his satisfaction with both the pace and quality of the construction work, specifically noting the improvements in road infrastructure within the brewery premises.

He commended the contractor for adhering to established standards and announced plans to bring the State Executive Council for an inspection of the site within the next two weeks. He stated, "I am impressed with the progress made since our last visit six months ago. I am confident that the Council will be astounded by the developments taking place here."

The Commissioner further expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for revitalizing the state's industrial sector and urged BIPC to meticulously document each phase of the project for public record and future reference.

Daher Kawerma of H&R Construction, the contractor responsible for the brewery's road works, assured stakeholders of compliance with project specifications. He reported that significant groundwork, including hardcore laying, culvert installations, and concrete work, has been completed, and that sand filling and tarring will commence shortly.

Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA emphasized the urgency of expediting the completion of the culverts to facilitate the arrival and installation of machinery, which is scheduled for next week. He confirmed the company's production timeline, noting that production at Benfruits is set to begin in July, the Benva Juice Factory will commence operations by September 1st, and Zeva Brewery is slated to begin operations on October 1st 2025.
