Young Lady Found Deceased Hours After Checking Into Enugu Hotel With Male Lover

The Enugu State Police Command has dismissed reports circulating in the media concerning the alleged murder of a young lady in a hotel in Nsukka, alongside claims that her vital organs were harvested in what has been purported as a ritual killing.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, issued a statement characterizing the report as false, misleading, and potentially inciting unnecessary panic among the public.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the police indicate that the remains of the deceased woman were discovered intact, devoid of any indications of organ harvesting or mutilation, contrary to widespread assertions. According to Ndukwe, there are signs suggesting that the woman may have been strangled, as evidenced by the presence of a swollen neck and bloodstains around her mouth.

On June 14, 2025, the victim, accompanied by an unidentified male suspect, checked into a hotel situated along Obukpa Road in Nsukka. The suspect, whose identity and contact information have yet to be established, reportedly checked out the following morning, claiming that the woman had already departed.

However, her lifeless body was later found in the hotel room, after which she was taken to a medical facility where the attending physician confirmed her death. The body has since been transferred to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Furthermore, Ndukwe noted that Commissioner of Police Mamman Bitrus Giwa has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) to intensify efforts to apprehend the fugitive suspect and ensure that justice is served.

He cautioned individuals and media outlets disseminating unfounded and sensational narratives to cease such activities, as they mislead the public and hinder ongoing investigations.
