Tinted Glass Permit Update: NPF Announces Grace Period Extension Amid Service Review Process

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has authorized an extension of the grace period to enforce the Tinted Glass Permit requirement until the 12th of August, 2025.

This extension follows numerous concerns and feedback expressed by members of the public regarding the reactivation of the digital Tinted Glass Permit application process. In alignment with our commitment to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing, the Nigeria Police Force wishes to emphasize that the concerns raised by citizens have been taken into account. These inputs have significantly informed the ongoing reviews of the application process to enhance its user-friendliness, security, and accessibility.

The decision to extend the enforcement period is also intended to facilitate further enhancements and refinements to the application process, ensuring that no individual is unjustly disadvantaged.

The Nigeria Police Force is actively working to simplify and improve both the physical and digital application options. This includes the implementation of advanced verification mechanisms and the streamlining of procedures to mitigate delays and eliminate unnecessary inconveniences.

Members of the public are advised that the official platform for the application and renewal of the Tinted Glass Permit can be accessed via https://possap.gov.ng." Citizens are also encouraged to report any unauthorized or hidden charges, as well as instances of extortion encountered during the application or biometric capturing processes, to the appropriate police authorities. This can also be done through the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.

The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its commitment to public safety, digital innovation, and continuous improvement in service delivery. We appreciate the cooperation and patience of the Nigerian populace as these reforms are implemented.
