Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has approved the dissolution of the Board and Management of Lobi Stars FC, the state-owned football club based in the state capital Makurdi as part of a strategic initiative to enhance the club's operational efficiency, accountability, and overall performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, as well as in various other competitions.
Governor Alia has instructed that all members of the dissolved management are to promptly transfer all official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Creativity.
He expressed his gratitude to the outgoing board and management for their service to both the club and the state, and he assured stakeholders that a revised management structure will be announced in due course to facilitate the next phase of Lobi Stars' development and competitiveness.
He further reiterated his administration's dedication to sports development as an essential means for youth engagement, talent identification, and the promotion of social cohesion within Benue State and Nigeria at large.
