Solomon Wombo Sympathizes with Tsaav and Lumbuv Council Wards During Visit to Afia

The Member representing the Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency, Honorable Prince Solomon Wombo, conducted a visit to Afia, the headquarters of Ucha, on October 9, 2025, to extend his sympathies to the residents of Tsaav and Lumbuv Council Wards in the Ukum Local Government Area, who have been adversely affected by ongoing attacks from armed Fulani Herdsmen.

These assaults have resulted in significant displacement, compelling individuals to abandon their homes, farms, and businesses. During his visit, Honorable Wombo expressed his profound sadness regarding the current situation and acknowledged the accompanying pain and disruption experienced by the community.

He assured the residents of his commitment to engage closely with the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem, and the Chairman of Ukum Local Government Council, Honorable Jonathan Modi, to find effective solutions to the challenges faced.

In a demonstration of gratitude, the Federal Lawmaker recognized the steadfast support from the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, towards the people of Sankera. He pledged to respond promptly to the issues raised by community members and traditional leaders.

Honorable Jonathan Modi, the Executive Chairman of Ukum Local Government Council, commended Honorable Wombo for his continual engagement and empathy towards the affected communities suffering from insecurity due to militant herdsmen. He emphasized that the collaborative efforts between Honorable Wombo and the Governor have facilitated the acquisition of necessary support, including security personnel and logistics, to enhance the safety of the Ukum populace.

Furthermore, the Council Chairman extended his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Benue State for his assistance and reiterated his commitment to advancing the welfare of the people of Ukum.

In their remarks, His Royal Highness, Mue Ter Cha, Zaki Utambe Nyagba JP, the Councilor representing Lumbuv Council Ward; Comrade Boga Abuul, President of the Ucha Development Association; and other community leaders expressed their appreciation to Honorable Prince Solomon Wombo for his remarkable gesture and demonstrated concern for his constituents. They lauded his efforts in addressing the persistent security challenges confronting the people of Ucha and invoked blessings upon him.

Honorable Wombo was accompanied during this visit by the Executive Chairman of Logo Local Government Council, Honorable Clement Kav; the Managing Director of Lower Benue Basin Authority, Engr. Terese Ninga; Honorable Chila Andrew Aondofa, Board Member of BIPC; and other dignitaries from the Ukum Local Government Council.
