The University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (UAST), Ihugh, Benue State, has officially commenced undergraduate admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The announcement, issued by the Office of the Registrar under Dr. Johnson Ijale Echor (MNIM, MAUA), invites qualified candidates who sat for the 2025/2026 JAMB UTME and met the required cut-off marks to apply through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
UAST Ihugh, a forward-looking polytechnic university committed to producing highly skilled graduates for the global knowledge economy, emphasizes transparency, academic excellence, and innovation in agriculture, science, and technology.
UAST Minimum JAMB Cut-Off Marks
The university has established clear admission thresholds to maintain high standards, particularly in health-related programs. Candidates seeking admission into
Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Human Nutrition & Dietetics, and Complementary & Alternative Medicine must score 160 and above in the UTME.
All other programs—including Agriculture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Management, Education, and more—require a minimum score of 150 and above.
These cut-offs reflect UAST’s strategic focus on competitive entry for clinical disciplines while ensuring broader access to STEM and agricultural fields.
NUC-Approved Degree Programs and Entry Requirements
UAST offers a wide range of National Universities Commission (NUC)-approved undergraduate programs across multiple faculties. Each program has specific UTME subject combinations and SSCE (O-Level) credit requirements (minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics). For example:
- Agric. Economics and Farm Management (Cut-off: 150) requires UTME subjects: English, Mathematics or Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Economics; SSCE: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, +1 relevant.
- Animal Science, Crop Science, and Soil Science follow similar science-based combinations with a 150 cut-off.
- Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Data Science (all 150) require English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/Economics.
- Health programs like Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science (160) demand English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in both UTME and SSCE.
A comprehensive list of over 30 programs, including Agribusiness, Food Science & Technology, Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, and Public Health, is available on the official admissions portal.
